AT THE RINGCRAFT CLASS
(…)
The OUR DOGS front page photograph of the little dog that went BIS at the SCC national championship show at Longhamp has brought me more comments and questions than I expected. A coulour photograph of the Berger des Pyrénées, Fède de l’Oustaou de Padel graces the summer edition of the magazine of the Réunion des Amateurs de Chien Pyrénéens and records her previous BIS wins in 1993 – at Narbone, Valence, Rabasten, the bred club’s national event, and at Nîmes. Before her Longchamp win she was second in the Pedigree Pal Top Dog league to the Basset she beat in the French final.
This little shephered breed is multi-purpose and the ‘l’Oustaou de Padel’ dogs combined brains and beauty. Twice Ubac (of the same affix) has won the national tracking championship. At the Eurodog show in Courtrai in Belgium the Res CACIB was won by Granit. In Switzerland in May the dog Drac won the CAC. I expect there to be more interest and greater knowledge of the breed following the invitation-only gathering organised by one of the first importers. Mrs Brebda Judson of ‘Carabrac’ Pyrenean Mountain Dogs on July 25.
A brief history and interpretaton of the breed standard was to be given by M. Alain Pecoult, retiring secretary of the French breed club who judjed the breed at Longchamp.
